Prophet Muhammad was born in the year 570 CE, known as the Year of the Elephant, in the city of Mecca. He was born into the respected Quraysh tribe, but his father, Abdullah, had passed away before his birth, and his mother, Amina, died when he was still very young. This left Muhammad an orphan, and he was cared for first by his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, and later by his uncle, Abu Talib. As he grew up, Muhammad became known for his honesty, kindness, and trustworthiness. Because of his noble character, the people of Mecca gave him the title Al-Amin, meaning “the trustworthy.” This reputation was so strong that even before his prophethood, many people entrusted him with their valuables and sought his judgment in disputes. His birth and early life were seen as a great blessing, as he would later become the final messenger of Islam, guiding humanity with the message of peace, faith, and submission to the one God.
